Liked the Video. Please make more. I, like you want to see a future life where we live in harmony with nature. Much like Frank Lloyd Wright envisioned with his designs. His architecture was a world where nature and man were one. The home was a loving place where we were in harmony with our environment.
There has been some material that touches on what you are asking. “Silent Running,” the 1971 Bruce Dern movie, is the first example that comes to mind. However we need a world where we haven’t trashed it and it speaks of all the positive aspects of what sustainable technology can do for us.

You’re exactly right, Stephen. It appears the term “eco sci-fi” was coined in the 70s to describe films like “Silent Running” – with very unhappy endings. The old eco sci-fi generally predicted disaster, warning us about the dire ecological consequences of our actions without offering much hope.
Since eco sci-fi doesn’t have a dictionary definition yet, I’m suggesting we re-brand the term and create a new genre. Call it hopeful eco sci-fi, if you like.
Whatever you call it, this culture needs fictional depictions of a hopeful, sustainable future – something we hardly ever see. When people see just how beautiful our sustainable future world could be, I believe we will all be more inspired to build it.

Hot damn baby! There just isn’t anything better than surfing the web in the middle of the night and stumbling upon hot sexy cookies such as yourself advocating ecologically motivated Sci-Fi reform! I just watched your video and believe me sweetie, you’ve got that Judy Robinson babe beat every-which-a-way ’till Sunday! I’d even take you over that sexy Klingon chick with the big rack and the forehead that looks like a giant freakin’ walnut! Not only that, in addition to your charming personality, superior intelligence and cunning wit… You’ve got a GREAT rack and a regular size head to boot! But on the other hand, you sound like one of those emancipated female liberal-types that want to save the world one tree at a time… Lucky for you having a great rack and a regular size head goes a long way with a fella…

There really needs to be a Green science fiction category for books. They do exist out there and I believe readers want to find them. Okay. I’m biased. I like to read them and naturally gravitated to that sub genre when I began to write. I now have four books out in the series and there are more coming. If Amazon would make the category available I know there are existing books and authors to fill it.

Your question got me thinking. I have contacted Amazon concerning starting an Eco-scifi category. LOL so instead of being sad that they haven’t the category I have asked. Who knows.. Maybe they’ll consider it a viable sub-genre and start one. 🙂 I’ll let you know.
And as to how I found you..I just Googled Eco scifi and you were on the list. It is nice to meet you.
